how to use your time in the train
I often get the question how I manage to survive my long commute time during the week. This question is often raised when in a conversation it becomes clear that I travel over 4 hours per day by train. In this blog post I will try to give a small insight in how I manage this.
The first rule that I use is that if I can do something in the train I should do it in the train and not at home. So in short this includes:
The second rule to follow is that if I can not do something in the train what I can do to make sure I can do the major part of the task in the train. This includes to make sure you have the right items packed in your bag, having the right files on your computer etc. The question to ask here is: How can I make sure I can do this in the train?

You can probably get a pretty good shower in the train as well if you take along a portable solar shower. You can probably heat the water inside by placing it behind a window so it catches the sun, or by stealing body heat off a group of passengers who are standing tightly squeezed together.
