21:58: I just reached the 1000 kilometer mark with my recumbent bike. It took me 46 hours and 24 minutes, averaging a 21.55 km/h speed. The last month however my average cycling speed is increasing, so I should do the next 1000 kilometer in less time.

Travel

I travelled 2,340 kilometers by bike. I only got 1 flat tyre however, which is less than the 2 flat tyres while traveling by car. I visited 2 foreign countries, german and belgium.

Usenet

In 2004 I posted 459 messages to usenet.

Mail

I received 24,782 regular emails. Beside that 2,789 spam messages made it through the filtering at the smtp level, which filtered away 21,183 messages. More than 3,897 virusses also managed to escape the filtering at the smtp level.

This means that in 2004 only 47% of the attempted delivery of email was regular mail. 40% of the mail delivery attempts in 2004 were blocked at the smtp level.

115 mails where send to me as a reply without the In-Reply-To or References headers set. Which means that 0.46% of the received email was send with a broken mailclient.

IRC

I typed 59,628 lines of tekst in my irc home chan out of the 197,993 lines entered which makes me responsible for 30% of the lines entered. These 59,628 lines had a total length of 1,697,062 characters. Which means that on average I typed 3.23 characters a minute during the year in that channel.

System management

In 2004 5 harddisks crashed. 2 times they were part of the same raid-1 array and crashed at the same time. I have now 7 PC's in my home which is 5 more than at the start of the year. The highest uptime of a machine in 2004 was 204 days
